María José Canseco

María José is specialized in energy and environmental law, with a focus on electricity projects. She has participated in multiple renewable energy projects, including wind farms, solar parks, combined cycle and hydroelectric power plants, from their development and financing, to their operation. She has provided legal advice to several clients in mergers & acquisitions, debt offerings and project finance transactions in connection with their energy, hydrocarbons, environmental and regulatory aspects. María José also has experience with the new electricity framework and has advised clients in their participation in the auctions organized by CENACE for the award of power purchase agreements for the sale of electric energy, power and clean energy certificates.

She has wide experience in matters related to government authorizations, construction, supply and operation contracts, energy supply contracts, and in assisting companies regarding compliance in matters of energy, hydrocarbons, environmental impact, beach concessions, water, hazardous and non-hazardous wastes, soil pollution, environmental risk, forestry land use change, sanitary, urban development, and regulatory aspects.
