Ricardo Maldonado

Ricardo has over 25 years of experience providing advice and counseling to Mexican and foreign clients on domestic and cross-border merger and acquisition transactions, joint ventures and strategic alliances. He also represents issuers and financial institutions in several domestic and international, public and private debt and equity offerings, and advises clients in the negotiation, structuring and drafting of complex financings and in infrastructure projects.

Ricardo also focuses part of his practice to Corporate Governance matters, advising family-owned and publicly listed companies in related matters.

Ricardo serves as member and/or secretary of the Board of Directors of several private and stock exchange listed companies, including Consorcio Ara, Volaris, ICA, Grupo Televisa, Ollamani (Estadio Azteca, Club América and Play City), Grupo Pueblo Bonito, Grupo Financiero Barclays México, Barclays Bank Mexico and Barclays Capital Casa de Bolsa.

On Pro Bono work, Ricardo actively participates as a mentor and lawyer assisting in matters of Endeavor México and Fundación Colegio de Abogados.  He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and of the International Corporate Governance Network.

On April 28, 2026, the new Regulations of the Federal Law for the Protection of Industrial Property were published in the Official Gazette of the Federation, which will enter into force on July 22, 2026, and will repeal the Regulations of the Industrial Property Law of 1994.
