Patricio appears in the main list of Capital Markets leaders, considered as a corporate finance all-rounder with broad experience in corporate transactions and structured finance matters.

He is also a relevant practitioner in M&A and Energy practice areas. He has experience in mergers and acquisitions, buyouts, joint-ventures and divestitures, securities regulation, corporate and structured finance, infrastructure, energy and general corporate law.

He regularly advises issuers in diverse local and cross border tender offers, acquisitions, buyouts, and joint ventures advising both buyers and sellers, also institutional investors and private equity investors in different industries, including regulated industries and public companies.

In addition, he has collaborated in a variety of debt and equity issuances in the Mexican market and routinely advises diverse Mexican and foreign banks in lending transactions to Mexican companies and regulatory matters.

New Regulation for the Determination and Payment of the Non-Forfeiture Guarantee Fee for National Water Rights
On August 4, 2026, the Decree issuing the Regulation for the Determination and Payment of the Non-Forfeiture Guarantee Fee for National Water Rights (the “Regulation”) was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (the “OGF”). The Regulation entered into force on August 5, 2026, and repealed the previous regulation published in the OGF on May 27, 2011, subject to the exceptions described below.

Scope of Attorney-Client Privilege in Antitrust Investigations
On August 7, 2026, a legal criterion from the Second Circuit Court on Administrative Matters Specialized in Economic Competition, Broadcasting and Telecommunications (the “Court”) was made public, in connection with the ruling date February 25, 2026, issued in file number R.A. 281/2024. In this decision, the Court held that attorney-client privilege only applies to communications effectively containing legal advice, provided by an independent, certified legal professional.

On August 7, 2026, the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit published Agreement 115/2026 in the Official Gazette of the Federation, amending, adding, and repealing various provisions of the General Rules (RCG) referred to in the Federal Law for the Prevention and Identification of Operations with Illicit Proceeds (LFPIORPI).
